Going to a beauty school in
Alaska,
a cosmetology school in Alaska, a haircutting schoolin Alaska, or an
esthetician school in Alasa can be
the start of a great career or a complete waste of time and money. It
all depends on which school you choose to provide your training. Before
you accept any advice from a beauty school owner, find out if they've
ever actually attended beauty school. One owner in Anchorage pretends
that he
can tell you what it's really like being a hairdresser, but he's never
been to beauty school, he's never done a legal haircut, he's never done
a hair color. I
know this sounds strange but it's true! If you're truly interested in
cutting hair then you'll need to learn a LOT more than a blunt and a
layered haircut. Find out where the haircutting instructor went to
school, find out if they have any advanced training. For you to find
the best beauty school in Alaska you're going to have to ask some
serious questions! If they haven't... then how are they going to teach YOU? You should also check to see what kind of color training your to-be instructors have. Hairt color services support your haircuts! Were these instructors trained to do helmet haircuts at the local beauty school, who learned from the local beauty school, etc? Or do they have world class, international training? You know... Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, London, Prague, Milan, Rome, etc. This single detail will completely change the nature of your training. Helmets or high fashion... YOU decide! When did your to-be instructors receive any training themselves? There are many advertisements, "We've been doing hair for 90 years combined", or something similar to that. Do you really care? Some people do hair for one year, poorly, and then they repeat these same bad habits for the next 20 or 30 years. They also tend to collect similar people to themselves. Have they actually received any good training in their entire careers? If so, when was it? 10 years ago, 20 years ago, or 30 years ago? In fact, do they do ANY continuing education at all? If you ask yourself these questions BEFORE you sign on the dotted line, you will be off to a much better start than if you simply march down to the beauty school down the street and start cutting bowl haircuts from someone with little or no professional training. If you don't ask yourself these questions, the money you pay for tuition is a complete waste of money, the time you spend doing boring, unattractive haircuts will be a complete waste of time. |
